It happened. I’ll tell you all about it.
Last weekend saw the 14th Annual Harry Sanders Memorial Rib-Off. A wild success. I’m still getting over it. Seriously folks, I have laundry to do and vegetables to eat.
As soon as I get my hands on more photos I’ll be sure to post them…. until then, here are a few highlights I’ve managed to beg, steal and borrow.
The patriarch, Harry, held court on the bar. (He’s the one in the oil can.)
In Merritt, we open our Champagne with an axe. Toast to the birthday girl, and the bride, and all the wildcats in attendance.
The weather left a little something to be desired…. I yelled about it for a while, then got over it and built a HUGE fire.

The fire burned for days. Like, three days. Actually, more than that... it was still going yesterday.
All you die-hard carnivores, thanks for coming out. If you have any great photos, send them my way and I’ll make sure they get posted.
All you jerks that stayed home… you have one whole year to make it up to us. Get cooking!

Katie, although the meat was amazing, most everyone I’ve talked to can’t stop raving about the cake you made. GREAT job, it was the best cake I’ve ever had and it really made my weekend.
what kinda cake did you make katie?
J,
It was a BIG ASS CHOCOLATE cake. Pretty simple, chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream and a cooked-out butter tart filling. The filling was an experiment, but judging by the crowd’s approval, it was a success.
