Catering Diaries: Vegas Nights
Been in the desert this week catering a party.

Lists upon lists, lead to more lists.
I got a call last week from a guy I used to work with years ago who now does marketing for a Vancouver company. Every year his company goes to a trade show in Vegas and this year decided to cater a soiree in a North Vegas mansion. They had originally booked another chef, but he had to back out at the last minute, so I was lucky enough to get offered the gig. Miraculously, I was able to take the week off (slow these days), so here I am in the desert cooking day and night. I’m just about to get back in the kitchen, but check out a few pics from the trip so far. Full post to come.

There are no cats in America and the streets are paved with cheese.

Beer helps.

In the land of Wal-Mart and Costco, Mikuni Wild Harvest makes a special delivery.

This crowd likes meat.

“Let the desert wind cool your aching head”. It’s official, I love the desert.
perfect piece. Let the pics tell the story with a bit of caption, that really works. loved it.
Nice looking spot. Love that indoor/outdoor kitchen. Look forward to seeing the full post!
I wish i could be there buddy
Was wondering where you were. Any childhood memories flodding back – when your parents abandoned you in the MGM Grand amusement park and got lost trying to find a way out through the casino. The maps only lead you deeper into the oxygenated, super-mario muizaked hell.
Put dollar on black thirty for me.
Ahh Vegas, I just returned from Vegas, love the heat and the gun shop is a blast! (no pun intended..really)
I’m still waiting for the “wish you were here” postcard you sent me while you were there. Sorry I couldn’t make it.
Since I couldn’t make it out last nite, thought I’ll just catch up here. Would have been fun hanging out with you and your gf.
I had to look you up on google, but i found you! …And wow this looks amazing! I’m surprised you got a whole week off work lol. guess you wont be missing us much
. Any ways just wanted to stop by and say hi and wish you all the best!
PS I’m really liking the song on your link.
Great opening photo. Finishing the piece with ‘The Golden Age’ was perfect. I always enjoy reading your posts and I am looking forward to hearing all about your new experiences at Araxi. Good luck!
